After claiming that LIV Golf is for the family, Patrick Reed plays 5 weeks

To dispel talk that they were jumping from the PGA Tour to LIV Golf for financial reasons, many players said the reason they chose the Saudi-funded premier league was the reduced workload.

But with a slide in the Official World Golf Ranking and also an open window in the schedule, Patrick Reed has been announced as a participant in the upcoming Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, one of the more lucrative events on the DP World Tour.

Reed was at No. 25 on Jan. 2, then dropped to No. 38 when he announced He left the PGA Tour for LIV Golf on June 11. With no chance to collect OWGR points on the LIV circuit, Reed dropped to No. 50, a position he has held for three consecutive weeks.

Including the Dunhill – a pro-am event played at three courses in Scotland, St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns – Reed will play in five consecutive weeks.

Reid September includes:

• LIV Boston (T-31)
• BMW PGA Championship (T-5)
• LIV Chicago (T-12)
• This week’s Cazoo Open de France
• Next week Dunhill

The 2018 Masters champion and nine-time winner said he was sick of the constant grind on the PGA Tour when he joined LIV Golf.

“He dresses like an athlete, he dresses like a man, he dresses like a father, and that to me, I feel like that was the best decision ever,” Reed said at the time. “Now I can compete at a high level, but I can be at home preparing and preparing for every event, and even though I’m grinding and preparing at home, with the kids.”

Reed was upset with the show’s organizers because he felt they had snubbed him because of his LIV golf connections. Reid was not invited to play in the pro-am before the tournament and believes he was left out of the marquee pairings because of the LIV connection.

“It’s a slap in the face not to be invited to the press conference or to play the pro-am and all that stuff,” Reed said. Golf notebook.

“At the end of the day, all I control is my golf. I’m here to support the tour, France and everyone here. But I don’t see why we’re going to go from the PGA Tour to the European Tour as usual from the LIV to the European Tour (DP World Tour).
