LONDON (AP) — Felix Auger-Aliasime and Jacques Sock bounced back to beat Andy Murray and Matteo Berrettini 2-6, 6-3, 10-8 in Sunday’s Laver Cup final doubles match. Europe to 8-7.
Three-time Grand Slam champion Murray was treated by a trainer after cutting his right leg during the defeat.
The three-day team tournament, founded by Roger Federer’s management company, saw the 22-year-old Canadian Auger-Aliassime take the court to complete three singles matches to become the 21-time Grand Slam champion. Novak Djokovic.
Wins are worth three points on Sunday; The first team to win 13 wins.
Sock paired with American Francis Tiafoe to defeat Federer and Rafael Nadal on Friday night in the final match of Federer’s 41-year-old career.
Djokovic won both singles and doubles matches in his first action since winning Wimbledon in July. That gave Team Europe an 8-4 lead heading into Sunday.
