CLINTON, NY – The 9th Annual Trust 271 Golf Tournament was held in Clinton Sunday at Skenandoa Golf Course.

The tournament has been named the Believe 271 Robert Le Buis Memorial Golf Tournament in honor of the former treasurer of Believe 271 who passed away on July 31, 2021.

Following the dedication and blessing of the Fire Hats, more than 140 golfers took the course, lining up for a good cause.

Funds raised from the tournament benefit volunteer firefighters in Herkimer and Oneida counties with life-threatening illnesses such as cancer.

“This is truly a testament to the brotherhood of the fire service,” said Faith 271 Vice President Fred Sherman.

“That’s what it’s all about when these people come here to show their support. All are 271 true believers in faith.

Later in the evening, a “Golf Balls from the Sky” golf ball drop was held on the course. All proceeds from the throw will go to Maynard firefighter Tom Phelps, who is battling stage 4 cancer.
