Boxing continues to deliver some huge moments and fights in 2022. After a strong start to the year, things have improved dramatically in the spring and now the sport heads into a long stretch loaded with big fights every week.
The year was marked early as Errol Spence Jr. dominated Jordan Ugas to unify three of boxing’s four world championships at welterweight. Tyson Fury recently returned to the ring when he defeated Dillian Whyte in London.
The biggest one, however, could come in May when Canelo Alvarez fights Dimitri Bivol in his bid for the WBA light heavyweight title. The undisputed super middleweight champion failed to provide much of a challenge for the Russian title holder in a career where he was short on punches over 12 rounds. Alvarez will bounce back when he defends his undisputed super middleweight title against longtime rival Gennadiy Golovkin on September 17th.
Oleksandr Usyk also recalled his greatness with a victory over Anthony Joshua to retain the unified heavyweight crown. The Ukrainian now plans to make it undisputed in his senior bout against Tyson Fury.

Now, on September 10, things heat up on the women’s side when a middleweight unification headlines London. Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall are going to slug it out for all four coveted titles at 160 pounds. That card will feature champions Mikaela Mayer and Alicia Baumgarner fighting for three of the four title unifications.
Additionally, a busy October is underway as former WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder takes on veteran Robert Helenius. And newly uncrowned lightweight king Devin Haney is back to rematch the man who beat George Kambossos Jr.
