Cara Lawson’s relationship with USA Basketball continues to grow

Cara Lawson has been at Duke for two years now, and while the outbreak has been very disruptive, her reputation continues to grow. Brad Stevens was impressed with her during her time with the Boston Celtics, she coached an Olympic three-on-three basketball team and now she has another feather in her coaching cap: she’s coaching the United States national team this season. FIBA Women’s World Cup in Sydney, Australia this fall.

Here’s what Lawson had to say about the new gig: “Over the past 25 years, every minute I’ve spent working with USA Basketball has been an absolute joy. Now you have chosen to help Cheryl [Reeve] It is an incredible honor in the upcoming World Cup. Having played in the national team, I understand the importance of this new appointment. I promise to represent our country with great pride this fall. I will do my part to help our players and staff be as prepared as possible to achieve great success in Australia.
