Commanders quarter Carson Wentz He went down memory lane in one week against a Jaguars team coached by Doug Pederson, his first NFL head coach, and will take another this weekend.

The Eagles will come to Washington for an NFC East matchup that will mark their first matchup against their original team since being traded to the Colts prior to the 2021 season. Wentz admitted that “everything is different” in Philly since Pederson and the two years of roster changes since his departure, but the memories of his “wild ride” with the team are still strong.

Wentz said he’ll “definitely have some mixed feelings” about how things ultimately played out against the Eagles and that added something to his game, though he’ll do his best not to let it get in his way on Sunday.

“I’m excited for him,” Wentz said, via Nicky Jahabvala . The Washington Post. “But . . . You try not to play the game Bigger than needed. Every week is a big week. It’s hard to win in this league. And I knew it would be football again after the first kickoff.

It won’t be the only reunion this year. Wentz and the Chiefs will be on the road for Monday night’s game in Week 10, and the Philly crowd should find it a little difficult to push aside the history the quarterback brings to these games.
