After reaching the NBA Finals last season, the team has been aggressive this summer with the addition of Malcolm Brogdon. And they were. Participating in conversations Before Kevin Durant’s superstar decision to return to the Brooklyn Nets.

Gruesbeck explained the team’s strategy in an accessible topic:

“People can write or think what they want. Or you can look at what we’re doing, which is doing everything we can to win a championship. And now we’re in full-on add mode. You’re going. To trade future draft picks and young players under the age of 30? Hopefully.” But money is no consideration, and this list shows that.

The Celtics completed an impressive run in the playoffs last year, earning the No. 2 seed in the East and defeating the Nets, Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat. The team still lost in six games to the Golden State Warriors, which was enough to spark an active offseason.

“Do whatever it takes to get better because we weren’t good enough,” Gruesbeck said in his message to Stevens.

With Brogdon added to a roster that already includes Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Bron and more, Boston will be looking to take the next step this offseason.
