The 23-year-old attacking midfielder will take up an international roster spot on the club’s 2022 roster.

Santos made 74 appearances in the Portuguese First Division with Moreirense FC, Boavista FC and FC Pacos de Ferreira. He had a great season with Pacos de Ferreira in 2021-22, scoring five goals and providing two assists in 31 appearances.

The 23-year-old has extensive experience for Portugal’s youth national team as a member of the Portugal U-19 team that won the European Championship in 2018 against Italy. last one.

He also made two appearances at the 2019 U-20 World Cup and made 44 total appearances for the U-16 to U-21 national team.

He also made 13 appearances across two separate UEFA Youth League campaigns, equaling the UEFA Champions League youth tally, scoring eight goals with one assist.

After two-and-a-half full seasons for Benfica B, Santos was loaned out to Moreirense FC for the second half of the 2019-20 season, making his division debut at the age of 20 and establishing himself at the top level. Two consecutive full-season loans to Boavista FC and FC Pacos de Ferreira.

While on loan with FC Pacos de Ferreira last season, he scored the opener against his parent club, Portuguese giants Benfica, at Taca de Portugal in an eventual 4-1 defeat.
