Bryson DeChambeau almost took his head off and fell to the ground as if he had been shot when he went viral at last week’s LIV golf event in Chicago. Golf broadcaster Dan Hicks confirmed he was one of the millions of people who watched the video. He grilled DeChambeau during the Presidents Cup call.
For anyone who missed it, DeChambeau hit his tee shot just outside the rope separating fans from the course. After hitting the rebound, D’Chambeau had to go under the ropes and get back on track.
He didn’t just walk under the rope, he walked straight into it, face first.
Just as DeChambeau’s struggles with the ropes began to cool, Hicks brought him to the forefront during Thursday’s action at the Presidents Cup.
While U.S. Capt. Davis Love III talks about sliding under a rope while driving a golf cart, Hicks makes a not-so-subtle adventure in DeChambeau.
“Everything is going right for him, because even when he’s holding the rope, there’s no problem,” Hicks said.
While it’s interesting that Hicks made the comment, what about the fact that NBC and the Golf Channel deliberately decided to air this absolutely pointless Love III clip while driving a cart under the wire?
The only reason the broadcast decided to use this clip was because of the joke about Dechambeau. You can’t, and you won’t, change my mind.
