Former NFL tight end Kevin Ware has been charged in the murder of his girlfriend, Taylor Pomasky, who was found dead in Texas last year.

A grand jury struck Weir for indicting the evidence, especially the corpse.

“Prosecutors presented the evidence to a Harris County grand jury, which determined there was sufficient evidence for a criminal charge,” said Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg. “Everywhere we follow the evidence and apply the law equally to all.”

Ware, who played for Washington and San Francisco from 2003 to 2004, faces a minimum of 15 years in prison.

Pomaski disappeared for seven months in April 2021 after showing up at a party at her Spring, Texas home.

Authorities reported they suspected foul play in Pomaski’s disappearance, and prosecutors named Weirne as a suspect in June 2021.

Ware is currently in custody in Montgomery County, north of Houston, on gun and drug charges. The charges are unrelated, NBC News reported.

“We encourage anyone who knows anything about what happened between Kevin and Taylor to come forward,” Lacy Johnson, the prosecutor handling the case, said in a statement Thursday, according to NBC News.

Ware has not played in the NFL since 2004.
