The multi-time UFC title contender and current Bellator contender is set to jump into the world of boxing and fight YouTube star and undefeated boxer Jake Paul. Romero (14-6 MMA, 1-1 BMMA), who returns to action this Friday. Bellator 285 Along with veteran Melvin Manhoff, Paul thinks he needs a reality check.

Paul is no stranger to facing MMA’s biggest names in the boxing ring. He is riding a two-fight winning streak against former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, and prior to that he defeated former ONE and welterweight champion Ben Askre.

Regardless of Paul, Romero hopes to compete in the sweet science before all is said and done.

Romero, a multiple world champion and Olympic silver medalist for Cuba, comes from a boxing family. His father tried to make him go the way of boxing, but he went to fight instead.

“I want to box and fight,” Romero said. “I want to do a fight or two in boxing. Seeing myself in a boxing ring is a big dream for me.

“As I said in the last interview, it’s about hitting my dad over the head with a hammer. My whole family boxed, and my dad loved it. But I’m here and I have a chance to make it happen, and my goals are to do some boxing fights.

“My father, my relatives, my brother, yes. They are the family that won the most medals in boxing in Cuba.
