ST. Paul, Minn Kirill KaprizovThe dire situation from afar this winter.

He saw the news reports around him NHL Draft said in July that Kaprizov was wanted in Russia for obtaining a fake military ID card years ago. Then Kaprizov saw reports that the delay in Russian military commitments was overdue. It is known that Kaprizov tried to leave Russia and go to the United States through Dubai, but was turned around at the airport.

Behind the scenes, Evason knew that he was working desperately and tirelessly with “the most important people” to get Kaprizov out of Russia and back to North America.

That’s why the Wild’s coach finally gave the always-smiling, often-smiling and constantly-squealing Kaprizov a giant bear hug when he saw him for the first time at the team’s practice facility last week.

“We have a group text with my family and I can’t wait to say to everyone: ‘I hugged Kirill today,'” Evason said.

Evason cannot imagine how worried Kaprizov must have been.

“In today’s world, we all can’t imagine what’s going on out there, and we can’t believe some of the things that are going on out there,” says Evason. “So if you’re not in their shoes, obviously if you’re not in Cyril’s shoes, we don’t know the stress he’s going through.

“I’m sure there’s still tension. I mean he left his family. So we all have to be very careful about everything and try to help him as much as we can.
