Judiciary and judicial interactions news and updates

At the latest eSports Boxing Club dev roundtable, we heard a number of gameplay aspects.

Unfortunately, no release date has been set yet, but we do have news surrounding how refereeing and referee interactions will affect gameplay.

Let’s check out what the development team had to say.

Judging in the eSports boxing club

A variety of topics were covered during the ESBC Dev Roundtable, but one of the topics that caught our attention was judging.

The Referee mechanic has been mentioned in previous boxing games, but not talked about much. It looks like eSports Boxing Club plans to dive in a bit.

Technique: Judging seems to be getting more attention

Creative Director Ash Habib said, “We really wanted to expand the judging system at ESBC. We did this by giving judges, basically, individuals.”

He already mentioned that a preliminary scorecard would come between rounds but change throughout the fight.

He talked about how in an eSports boxing club there are referees who judge unfairly, while others award points for big hits and injuries. This kind of diversity makes ESBC a better game.

The interaction of judges in ESBC

When eSports Boxing Club is finally released, it looks like referee interaction will be very involved.

The best part of this is that it gives this boxing game a more realistic look. Habib said that many boxers don’t worry about the referee during a match, so you may not see the referee very often.

Bud Crawford: We hope for more games in the next few weeks

Some of the interactions that Habib mentioned were that the referee would divide boxers, score points, check cuts and bruises, and even continue after the match.

They also asked the eSports Boxing Club community to provide feedback on what they would like to see when ESBC is released.
