Gonzaga and Kentucky have agreed to a home-and-home men’s college basketball series that begins with the Wildcats traveling to Spokane in November.
The game was announced Tuesday night during a conversation between coaches John Calipari and Mark Few at the Kentucky Open practice and telethon to raise money for flood victims in Eastern Kentucky.

“He wants to schedule a game, but everything has to be on his terms,” Calipari told the Rupp Arena audience via video. “I thought we were in Kentucky.”
“We were good at first,” replied a few. “We looked good, and now we’re like, ‘Hey, do you want to play?’ And I’m like, yeah I’m good at playing.
“And what did you say?” Calipari wrote.
“I said it should be in Spokane,” Few said.
After some time between the two head coaches, they went into detail.
“November 20 will be great,” said Few. “It suits us, how about you?”
“Let me ask you this, maybe this is crazy,” Calipari replied. “Are you going to come back here next year or are you saying it’s a one-game shot at Spokane?”
A few who said, “We’ll definitely be back.” “We’ve never played at Rupp Arena, and it was great.”
The two programs have played just once, in the 2002 Maui Invitational. Kentucky won that game 80-72.
The Nov. 20 contest will be arguably the best non-conference game of the season. Both teams have been ranked in the top 5 for most of the preseason, with Gonzaga coming in at No. 2 and Kentucky at No. 4 in ESPN’s latest Road-to-Early Top 25. It also features two of the nation’s best players and is in the running for National Player of the Year. Oscar Tshiebwe He fights with the American twice Drew Tim.
Gonzaga’s 28-4 season ended with a Sweet 16 loss. Kentucky was stunned by 15-seed St. Peter’s in the first round.
