ATLANTA — School districts in metro Atlanta are taking precautions to keep their students safe. Before the possible impact of Hurricane Ian in the area.
Clayton County Schools has decided to observe Virtual Education Day on Friday. Employees and students work and learn remotely.

A long list of school districts have also moved their football games scheduled for Friday night to Thursday night.
Atlanta Public Schools
BEST Academy vs. Mount Paran Christian travels to Henderson Stadium in Atlanta on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
Mays vs. Creekside travels to Henderson Stadium in Atlanta on Thursday at 8 p.m.
Douglas vs. Jackson will move on to Thursday at 7 pm at Red Devil Hill Stadium in Jackson, GA.
Therrell vs. Washington travels to Lakewood Stadium in Atlanta on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
South Atlanta moved from KIPP Atlanta College to Thursday at 8 pm at Lawwood Stadium in Atlanta.
Barrow County Schools
Apalachee High School in Shiloh and Winder-Barrow High School in Jefferson moved their games to Thursday.
Cherokee County Schools
All three homecoming varsity football games are being moved to Thursday at 7:30 p.m., including:
Creek View High School vs Etowah High School
Sequoyah High School vs River Ridge High School
Woodstock High School vs Rome High School
Clayton County Schools
Jonesboro vs Mundy’s Mill is moving to Thursday at 7:00pm at Hines Ward Field/Tara Stadium.
Lovejoy vs Woodward Academy has been moved to Thursday at 7:00pm at 12 Oaks Stadium.
Morrow’s homecoming game against Alcovey is being moved to Thursday at 7:00 pm at Morrow High School.
Junior varsity games will be moved to Wednesday or the last week of the season.
DeKalb County Schools
All games scheduled for Friday night have been moved to Thursday, including Lithonia High School vs. Mount Arab at 7 p.m.
Haralson County Schools
Haralson County’s homecoming game is through Thursday at 7:30 p.m
Newton County Schools
Both Eastside High School and Newton High School have moved their games from Friday to Thursday.
Paulding County Schools
All five high school football games have been moved to Thursday.
Rockdale County Schools
Rockdale County High School vs. Forest Park is moving to Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
Salem High School has moved from Hepzibah to Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
