Naomi Osaka gifted her boyfriend Taylor Fritz with the latest Yonex racquet that launched earlier this month. After accepting the gift, Morgan Riddle joked that it was definitely time for her to learn to play tennis. “Think it’s time to learn to play tennis,” Riddle wrote on her Instagram story.
Earlier this month, Osaka unveiled its latest Yones racket. The racket was designed by Osaka’s sister Marie, who has a passion for fashion design.
A note that Osaka left for Riddle
Osaka left a little note for Riddle saying that she was excited to share her latest Yonex racket with her.
I am very excited to share with you the new Yonex Tennis Racket! This is very special to me because my sister made it herself. It has many meanings – dragons for power, good luck and strength; Spider flowers for strength and beauty; Purple/gold for power and ambition,” the note says.
Meanwhile, Fritz is enjoying the season of his life. Fritz accompanies Riddle wherever he goes and seems to have a very positive influence on him. But Riddle didn’t know much about tennis before she met Fritz.
Riddle got excited about the game after she started dating Fritz and has been trying to promote it on her social media ever since. “I think what really interested me in bringing it to a new audience was because Taylor and I knew nothing about tennis until we started dating,” Riddle on the Hold On To Your Rackets podcast.
“You know, before he and I met, I was like, ‘Is he going to play college tennis?’ What is ATP? My whole family is a hockey family. Not one soul from Minnesota plays tennis. I don’t know the big 3.
This week, Fritz competed in the Montreal Masters. Fritz’s Montreal run ended with a round of 16 loss to Daniel Evans.
