Venus Williams says she is the type of person who always strives for more and tries to reach new heights. In an interview with Bradley Cooper’s The History Talks interview, Venus and Serena were asked how they felt knowing they had changed the game of tennis.
“For me, I want to do more. You want to be better every minute. It’s never enough. If it was perfect, it still wasn’t enough,” Venus said in an interview on the ‘History Talks’ show on the Vanity Fair.
“You can’t see when you’re inside,” Serena added. It’s completely different when you’re involved.”
Serena, Venus Williams are through.
The Williams sisters are considered the oldest sister duo in tennis history.
They were unstoppable in their prime and the competition had to be adjusted to compete against them. An all-time great lost in this past US Open tennis match. Serena, a 23-time Grand Slam champion, retired from tennis after the US Open.
In her final tournament, Serena teamed up with her sister Venus in the US Open women’s doubles tournament. Unfortunately, the Williams sisters lost in the first round and didn’t go very far in the doubles competition.
After Serena’s US Open campaign officially ended, Venus paid a touching tribute via Instagram post. “After a year away from the game, no one comes close to her level, her intensity, her joy, her fun.
Never another @serenawilliams her legacy will live on in all she inspires to greatness, including me! No one did the game or the sport the way she did. “Tennis will not be the same without the GOAT,” Venus wrote on Instagram. Venus, 42, has indicated several times in recent weeks that she plans to continue her career.
