Former WBO/WMA super featherweight and WBO lightweight boxing champion Acelino ‘Popo’ Freitas is out of the first round of an exhibition boxing match against MMA veteran Jose ‘Pele’ Lundy-Jones.

Originally scheduled for eight rounds, the headliner ended just 85 seconds into the opening frame, with Popo, 47, knocking out Landy-Jones, 49, and following up with a shout after a quick stoppage. Standing count. Pele went down for a follow-up.

Because it was an exhibition match, the results will not be added to the athletes’ official record, with Popo’s (41-2) last win still a unanimous decision over Gabriel Martinez in November 2017. Meanwhile, Pele’s (29-16) last MMA fight ended with a loss to Zach Buccia in July 2015.
