It takes a big man to admit his mistakes and I am a big man.

At the end of August, The Athletic published the college football rankings 100 most influential quotes For the 2022 season. We had to choose from a pool of over 1,000 players. It was possible to narrow the list down to 250 players. Narrowing that list down to 100 was brutal. We’ve got fall camp intel from coaches all over the country, but you never really know what you’re getting until the game starts.

A month into the season, the 100 has aged well. Arkansas linebacker Drew Sanders He is tied for the national lead in sacks. Purdue receiver Charlie Jones He is No. 1 in catches (41) and touchdown catches (seven). USCTouted imports helped the Trojans reach No. 6 in the AP Poll.

But there are also players we left out of the top 100 who got off to a good start in September. Many were very close to making the list, and others were unexpected surprises. Here are a dozen transfers that have made a big impact this season.

What a treat it was to see Penix fully healthy and firing again.
