The team made the announcement following last weekend’s GT World Challenge Europe Spa 24 Hours where they won twice against the German manufacturer.

WRT’s achievements since the team’s inception in 2010 include two generations of Audi R8 GT3 competitors at the Nurburgring 24 Hours, the Bathurst 12 Hours and the Macau GT World Cup, as well as 30 titles and firsts in the GTWCE. .

Alongside the team’s participation in the FIA ​​World Endurance Championship in the LMP2 class, an as yet unnamed manufacturer will continue on the GT3 platform next year.

Team Leader Vincent Vosse said: “It’s a very special and emotional time for all of us at Team WRT and for me personally as we announce that a significant chapter in our company’s history is about to end and a new one is about to begin. open up.

Vose described WRT’s time with Audi as an “amazing journey”.

WRT’s exit from the Audi fold follows the cancellation of the manufacturer’s LMDh program, which was due to run in next year’s WEC.

Vose won’t be drawn on his relationship with BMW at the Spa 24 Hours weekend, although he admits the team’s LMDh ambitions are now focused on 2024.

If LMDh’s relationship with BMW is confirmed, it seems certain that WRT will switch to the new 2022 BMW M4 GT3 for its GT racing duties.
